How To Carry Color

We need to be careful about changing colors while knitting.  You don't want to skip so many stitches that you have long strands in the back of your work.  You also don't want to pull the yarn so tightly it pulls the body of work.

One way that works well is to insert your needle as though you are going to knit.  Bring the "old" color over the tip of the needle and stop…..make sure this yarn came from under the "new" yarn.  Now, take the "new" yarn and wrap the stitch as if to knit and stop.  Now just slip the "old" yarn off the needle and continue.
