How To

How to have beautiful, even edges.

This is such a lovely technique:

It doesn't matter whether you are working in stockinette, garter or a pattern.....always slip the first stitch of every row purlwise and knit the last stitch of every row.

Two points to remember:

First, when your first stitch is a knit stitch you must bring the yarn to the front and then slip the stitch purlwise. Then, if your second stitch is another knit....bring the yarn to the back between the needles and knit. If you're about to do a purl...just purl, the yarn will already be where it needs to be.

Secondly, and this will save you some sure to remember you have slipped this first stitch and that you are actually starting the row with stitch #2....important if you're doing a pattern.

You will LOVE the perfect chain this will give you on both sides of your work.
