I found that most dish cloth patterns can be easly modified to make coasters. After all, they are just smaller versions. It is a great way to use up left over yarn, and practice a new stitch and keeps those table tops nice and clean. They make great presents too. Now if I can just get my cousins to actually use them as intended and not as frizbees.

I like that idea. And it would make me feel productive to produce so many FOs. Very Happy

By the way, I lived in the Lehigh Valley for many years, and Lancaster was always a favorite place to visit! (I even know how to pronounce it correctly: LANKuster Wink !)

YEAH!!!, Someone who can say it correctly. It is a really pet peeve of people here for those who say it wrong. For those across the pond, it it pronouced the exact same way as over there in Lancaster England, or so I am told.

I saw a pattern for coasters once....you felted a knitted peice and then cut coasters out of the felted fabric into whatever shape you wanted. I had forgotten about that.
