I got one whole repeat done... properly... Had to put it down, though, and work on a quilt top for a class sample... Will get back to the grindstone here in a bit...

Congratulations Katknit. I can't wait to see it.

I was halfway through mine and when I looked at it, I thought, this is pretty, but not something I see myself wearing (not warm enough for this climate), and that Mama Llama sock yarn I was using is so pretty... I ended up frogging it and rolling the yarn back into a ball for future use. Sorry Embarassed

Well, I finally got around to blocking mine.

We have two phone jacks that have given up the ghost, so I called the telephone company. Someone is supposed to be out Thursday afternoon, but in the mean time I have been going through my stash because, as luck would have it, one of the faulty jacks is behind where I usually store my stash.

It has not been a fun weekend. So far I've generated a huge bag of trash, a bag of acrylic yarn for my sister-in-law and a box of stuff for Good Will.

While I was in the midst of the cleaning frenzy, I washed up some woolens. I stretched my scarf over one of the buckets I keep clean for changing the fish tanks and put it on the table upside down to dry.

Every time I came back into the room, the bucket was on the floor right side up, and every time I put it back on the table. After the fourth time I finally asked my father why he kept putting my clean scarf on the floor when I put it on the table to dry. His reply was "Oh, that's your scarf? I thought it was an insulator for the bucket."

If any one would like an 80 year old man, please let me know. I've had just about as much as I can take of this particular one.

Frances, I'll trade you, just for a couple of days, your 80 year old man for a 9 year old boy. Mine has been driving me crazy. I'm glad the holidays are over, so that we can get back to our normal routine. Having them at loose ends is just too much.

Great idea using a bucket. I haven't blocked my wimple yet because I couldn't think of what to put it on. I will be getting that done tonight. Very Happy

Actually, someone suggested the bucket a ways back in this thread. At first I thought it wouldn't stretch, but now I'm happy with the result. After a couple of hours, I took it off the bucket, turned it inside out and put it on the bucket again so it would dry all the way through. Now if only my wool socks were dry. It's bitter cold outside and I'd love to have a pair to wear to bed.

The wimpole fits much better after blocking. I've got a large head and such thick hair that it was uncomfortably tight before blocking.

I'd just about swap you for that 9 year old. There's always the hope that a 9 year old will improve with age....

I had to spin some more yarn for mine... I've got one repeat and the border to go on it...
