Oh my, I am in search of a simple sock pattern. I just purchased a set of 5 bamboo knitting needles, size 3, to use with my last 6 balls of 100% superfine alpaca knitting yarn. I believe the color is maybe semba? I knitted a wimpe for my bf for a Christmas gift and just loved the varigation. It actually looked like it was suppose to be camoflauge! LOL

Anyway, this is my first pair of socks and would love to give it a spin. It has been very confusing looking at all these patterns and trying to decide which one to do. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know where I can find something simple. As these are just for myself and intend to use them for lounging.

Happy Knitting! If anyone would like to do a knit-along, I would just love it.

I'd love to Minnie, but I just can't right now. I bought the yarn for the tutorial Kathryn posted, but they didn't have the right sized needle. Probably a good thing since I have some things to start & finish before I can hunker down and learn something new!

Keep me posted on how you do & what you use to get you there though!

I would love to, but I just don't have the right yarn or needles right now. It'll probably be the 2nd week of Feb before I have the yarn and am ready to give it a go...

Would love to join you on this !
I have 2 sweaters to finish first though and could be ready to start by March 1st.
I have needles yarn and a pattern sent to me by a good friend from the USA.
Start without me if you can get someone to do a KAL before 1st March though!
I have only ever managed 1 sock before and never managed to master "magic loop"..................................

By March 1st Minnie should be ready for a second or third pair...that is the good thing about flexible dates on knit-a-longs.

Maybe.

I'll watch this topic for details and see if I can fit one in.

Can I join you? I want to try toe-up socks so that'll be my first.

I'm afraid I've jumped the gun and made a start on my first toe-up socks. The yarn is very tweedy and I start to feel dizzy if I look at it for too long so it's going to take me a long time to do them. They also have short row heels which I've also never done before so two firsts for me. The pattern is Laburnum, a five-stitch pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks.

Hope nobody minds me starting. You'll all be finished way before me .
