This is the first dishcloth I've knitted in a while. It's going to be part of a set that I'm going to give my brothers girlfriend for her birthday. (I knitted one for my brother a couple of years ago, and she commented how much she likes them - so it's not as strange an idea as it sounds!)

The other cloths that I'm planning will tie in with the theme of this one.

I haven't made any in a while but a lot of mine are stained and belong in the rag drawer now. They are a great car project....well....not when you're driving. Very Happy

That's lovely Kathryn Very Happy I'm sure your brother's girlfriend will love it Very Happy

I have knitted several dishcloths, but they were all for swaps or gifts so I don't have one of my own to use. However, I use nothing but hand knitted cloths for washing up as I have received them myself as swaps or gifts in return.

Whenever I take a new one form the drawer, I think to myself "this is Holly's cloth" - or Linda's or Sarah's or Chrissie's or Linz's................ always I remember friends when doing the dishes Laughing

Perhaps it's time for another dishcloth swap?

That is so funny that you say that, Joy. This morning when Henry was finished with his breakfast, I got Jackie's dishcloth out of the drawer and thought about her for a moment. Knitters are such a wonderful community.

Very nice. My girls keep hinting on how they need more dishcloths and my DIL loves the towels. Guess I should start again.

this put me in the mood for more cloths. I have been browsing internet shops looking for cotton. It is a bit expensive in some and in others some cotton are advertised as cool wash and dry flat, iron damp? not what I want in a washcloth.

What a nice gift!

I was thinking I needed to do some more cloths, too. I think I will use my mouse pattern. So far, Holly is the only one who has one of my mouses. Wink But, it was fun and easy to make; I am just not sure people would want to wash their dishes with a mouse. Very Happy

I did make LM some with frogs. They do well in the water. Laughing

Whew - that's why I chose it! Very Happy She's Canadian, but currently living in England. I'm also planning an outline of Canada and Ontario, and a moose.
